Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Garrett is a longtime friend of JJF drummer Mike Oncea. In high school, Garrett recruited Mike for his band. Seventeen years later, Mike returned the favor by recruiting Garrett for his. Garrett’s musical roots and influences are diverse: from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Simon and Garfunkel, and James Taylor; to Aerosmith, The Eagles, Pearl Jam and Coldplay.

Since the age of fourteen, Garrett’s also performed in countless theatrical plays and musicals throughout Western Pennsylvania and has been seen in local and national television commercials.
